And Indeed The Hereafter Is Better For You Than The Present World [93:4]

Allah reminds us in Quran that this world is temporary and everyone will taste death and to Him we will return
“Seeing that you were dead and He gave you life. Then He will give you death, then again will bring you to life (on the Day of Resurrection) and then unto Him you will return” [2:28]
"Every soul will taste death. Then to Us will you be returned." [29:57]
Allah reminds us in Quran again that this world is just an amusement and diversion.
"And the worldly life is not but amusement and diversion; but the home of the Hereafter is best for those who fear Allah , so will you not reason?" [6:32]
From our observations and also from the revelations to the prophets that our time in this life is limited. We have at best a few years and then we will move on to a world about which the Quran provides numerous references. Allah has repeatedly reminded us in the Quran (a fact that has been further clarified by the Prophet (S.A.W.S.) as well) that the value of this life compared to the hereafter is very miniscule. Quran states
“…Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than the hereafter? But little is the enjoyment of the life of this world as compared with the Hereafter” (Quran, Al-Tawbah: 38)
“…As compared with the life of the hereafter, the life of this world is nothing but a brief passing enjoyment” (Quran, Ar-Rad: 26)
“And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement. But far better is the house in the hereafter for those who are Al-Muttaqun (the pious). Will you not then understand?” (Quran, Al-An’aam: 32)
A Muslim should never give this life priority over the next life. This life is transient and the next life is the permanent abode. Allay says:
“But (behold), ye prefer the life of this world; but the Hereafter is better and more enduring” [87:16-17]
The companions of Prophet never give there pirority to the wordly life rather they strive for the Hereafter. We should follow there examples and work for good and betterment as we have to provide the account we did in this world, Quran says in this regard
"Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned." [21:35]
"Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing)." [3:185]
The Prophet SAW too, clarified the value of this life in relation to the hereafter.
He said, “The life of this world compared to the hereafter is as if one of you were to put his finger in the ocean and take it out again then compare the water that remains on his finger to the water that remains in the ocean” [Sahîh Muslim 2858]
Ibn ‘Umar said: The Messenger of Allah SAW took me by the shoulder and said: “Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer.”
Knowing the limited time that we have in this life, giving it anything more than its due proportion, therefore, wouldn’t be prudent. But we also know that Allah has made this life a test and adorned it with enough temptations and attractions to make the weak among us get diverted and deceived. To such people, Allah warns us in the Quran in the following words:
“Let not then this present life deceive you” [Surah Fatir:5]
Allah remind us in Quran about the world what it really is
Quran states in 57:20-21
"Know that the present, worldly life is but a play, vain talk and ostentation, and mutual boasting among you, and competing in wealth and children – it is like when rain comes down and the vegetation grown by it pleases the farmers, (but) then it dries up and you see it turn yellow, then it becomes straw; and in the Hereafter, there is a severe punishment, but also (there is) forgiveness from God and His good pleasure (which are everlasting), whereas the present, worldly life is but a transient enjoyment of delusion. And (rather than competing for the things of this world) race with one another to forgiveness from your Lord, and to a Garden the vastness of which is as the vastness of heaven and earth, prepared for those who truly believe in God and His Messengers. That is God's bounty, which He grants to whom He wills. God is of tremendous bounty."
The expression translated as the present, worldly life also means the basic elements or attributes of the present life. So by this expression, the Qur'ān denotes, rather than the world, the life that pertains to the bodily or material dimension of human existence. Otherwise, the world is the field to be sown for harvest in the Hereafter, and is also the place where God's Names are manifested.
